Clocky — Alarm Clock R&D
Mechanical engineering internship with Clocky, focused on developing a next-generation consumer alarm clock from concept through iterative hardware prototyping.
Clocky is best known for the alarm clock that runs away and hides when you hit snooze. The internship involved working on their next product — a new alarm clock concept developed from scratch.
The work spanned the full early-stage product development loop: ideation, constraint mapping, physical prototyping, and iterative testing. Documentation from multiple proof-of-concept stages was maintained throughout.
Working in a small hardware company means wearing many hats — the internship covered mechanical design, basic electronics, and the kind of cross-functional problem solving that consumer product development requires.
