Live Texture Painting

A live texture painting experiment in Blender using real watercolor paints and a webcam as input. A series of still life models painted and rendered simultaneously.

This project explores the overlap between physical and digital mark-making. Using a webcam to capture live watercolor painting sessions, I fed that footage directly into Blender as texture input, painting 3D models in real time.

The result is a series of still life renders where the surface texture is a literal record of physical brushwork — watercolor on paper, translated into geometry.

I also captured time-lapse recordings of the modeling and painting sessions together, documenting the dual-medium process as its own kind of artifact.
